Preparing for big day/marriage?

Each time when I see couples who just said 'yes to each other' and on their journey to prepare for their big day, most honey lovers will be busy considering, sourcing and preparing for their big day-the wedding day. For Chinese, most couples will even be more excited to choose a lovely, romantic ballroom/hotel for their wedding banquet. Usually couples will try to satisfy themselves with hotels with have at least 4* and above, beautiful and romantic ballroom set up to impress hundreds or thousands of guests and family members, huge diamond stones wedding band, 4-5 tier wedding cake, expensive bridal package with some to the extend of spending thousands on photos and video just for a lovely keepsake and presenting to guests. I have ever heard of stories whereby couples spent almost $10K for overseas photography just to different from other couples choice venues for wedding photography. I also have heard of couples 'presenting' fireworks at their wedding (which I saw for myself). Many times, I feel these couples are doing something more creative to give guests a 'wow' surprise. End of the day, the expensive and pain taken photographs will end up at storage area (in cupboard) 1-2 months after the wedding, the true and not so sweet reality issues in life surface with 2 different people starting to live together.

To most couples, marriage is all about preparing for their big day to be as glamourous as possible, be at the centre of attraction and envy of many many singles out there. I don't quite agree! Yes, your big day can be the most memorable day in your life but key to a successful marriage lies after the big day. Each time, when a couple decided to tie a knot, most of the preparation that you get to hear is buying or renovating a house, wedding package and dinner, honeymoon, etc....but seldom will mention the preparation for pre-marriage counselling. When I mention the word pre-marriage counselling, it doesn't physically mean the couple are not in the right mind to be together but it is just like mother-to-be who goes for pre-natal class. Do you know divorce rate in Singapore is ever increasing. Why? Is it because couples get married for the sake of following the motion or it is just due for marriage or our flat is here? What is the reason for marriage, you ought to know!

I have heard of so many sad stories around me with couples who were once upon a time happily ever after ended up with the tragic to end their marriage. I will not say they have ended up their love because their love has ended before ending their marriage. There was once I even saw a couple wedding photo frame being dumped in the rubbish collection centre, its sad to see.

My personal view is no matter how much time, effort and money you spend to materialise a glamourous wedding affair, please consider values of a marriage before you consider how big your wedding stone is going to be or which hotel to hold your wedding banquet.

After a cool 3 weeks of leave, I am finally back to work in office! When I first stepped in, I was greeted with a big warm smile and morning greetings from my auntie cleaner. She looks extremely happy to me or was my absence in office makes her heart grow fonder? Immediately, she excitedly shared with me a good new that she strike jackpot at Genting casino! Initially, I thought it was a small windfall but I was eyes wide apart when she said she strike $11k but in ringgit. Anyway, it was a cool win of $5k in Sin dollars. I am happy for her because to be a winner at casino it never easy! It was also a nice gesture of her to bring breakfast for me tomorrow. So am I a winner too though my prize is only a warm breakfast?

I discovered all my computers at work have been upgraded with Microsoft Office 2007. I do find it a little 'complicated' to navigate with the new function especially the new toolbars. I trust it will certainly take me a while to settle confidently using Microsoft 2007 but I have decided to go for the computer classes that our office has offered us in order to better equip ourself to using new system.

Today is also lunar calendar big day-Guan Yin Dan. I specially went to Waterloo Street temple to pray. I pray for peace and make a little prayer and hope my prayer will be answered soon. After the praying, I went to the foodcourt at Bras Basah Complex to have my favourite pork chop noodles which was formerly at Shaw Tower. The lady stall owner is always happy to see familiar customers at her stall. I guess it is a good feeling to see returning customer and indicating they must have like your food to make the effort to patronize often. Happy to enjoy my delicious pork chop noodles (will post picture when I next visit the stall again) and at the same time put a smile on the lady stall owner's face. There is also a new stall in this foodcourt that sells rojak, my all time favourite. I bought a plate and my one and only verdict for this stall rojak is WOW, WOW, WOW! Very nice and thick shrimp paste and the youtiao is toast to perfection. They also added fruits like mango, green apple and guava to it. Perfect rojak at perfect price of $3. At the finish of the rojak, I told myself that I should walk up to the rojak seller and give her my compliments. Most people seldom give praises and I feel there is no need to be stingy with giving my compliments to anyone who deserve it!. I walked up to her and had this conservation with her.

Me: "Auntie, do you know your rojak is very nice, 5stars?'

Auntie: "Oh really, thank you thank you. You like my rojak, huh?"

Me: "Auntie, your rojak is super nice and worth my 100% recommendation! Too bad I am not a food reviewer, otherwise, I will do a food write up for you and boost your business"

Auntie: (widest smile) "Actually a lot of people said my rojak is nice, I am so happy! But rental is so expensive these days that I hope I can sustain the high overheads!"

Me: "True, true, rental can kill you!!! Anyway, you have my fullest support and I have nominated you as Singapore Best Rojak"

At the end of the entire conversation we even exchanged our numbers and she said she will let me know if she ever re-locate to another foodcourt. I think it didn't occur to her that someone like will like her rojak so much so till I will walk up to her and give her praises and ask her to keep up the good work! I am happy that I have made someone's day and put a smile on her face. I believe no one will be say no to praises and compliments. I should start collecting praises now.

A day in China

Judging from the title of this blog, you may have guessed that I been to China recently. The answer is wrong! Recently I went to a 2 days 1 night stay at Sentosa and during this whole entire stay, I conclude I am in China more than in a Singapore Island. I have not been to Sentosa for a long long time and I must admit there are indeed a lot of changes and makeover done to Sentosa. Sad to say, I wasn't really very impressed and attracted with the new makeover. The last time that I went to Sentosa was at least 10 years back which I remembered I was there with my mum, sister and friends. At that time, the main attraction on island was the Underwater World and I remembered the ticket price was a cool $16.00. Imagine $16 at that time was considered a luxury. This time round, Sentosa did improve with more thrilling ride and fun show like 'Songs of the Sea', 'Pink Dolphin Show'. I will say the minimum price for each entry ticket (be it for show or ride), I think the cheapest is the $8 for 'Songs of the Sea'. I was too stingy for all these. I can see a lot of tourist did buy ticket for this and I feel its a shame when at the start of the show, they played songs like 'chan ma li chan', 'lou yang hua gu', etc. Goodness, how you expect Japanese or Caucasian to understand all these. I was thinking to myself 'I had saved another $8'.

During the whole stay, I was rather pissed off by many China tourists! While I was queuing for the tram to the beach, you know the word queueing but those Chinese do not understand at all. The moment they see the tram they just rush for it without any hesitation to be considerate to those who have been queuing obediently. Each row of tram seat can accommodate about 4-5 persons and the way I saw some of these Chinese taking a ride on the tram, I feel like giving up and take the next ride. They are a horrible inconsiderate gang and behaved so uncivilized! Anyway, suay me had a China lady seated beside me. She put her leg up and I saw toe nails on her foot and I feel like puking. Oh no, it appears to me that she have never trim her toe nails from the day 1 she was born till now. Real disgusting and no personal hygiene at all! Puke!

Going back to the point while I was queuing for the tram, before and after me in the queue were both couples. The similarity in these 2 couples is both are Singapore men with China girlfriends! The man in front me who look like in young 40s, dressed up in nice pink shirt and black pants (office attire) and slightly bald, the only conclusion that I have for him to be hooked up with China girlfriend is either 1) Singapore girl won't fall for such slightly bald middle age man or 2) he is actually married but flirting with China girl and this explains why a man dressed in working attire can be seen with a China girl during a weekday. He must have guessed it is safer to date on a island and less the risk of being spotted by friends or relatives. As for the other couple behind me, this man is a 50yrs old man with a sexy and heavy make up young China girl. I believe this couple needs no more description from me and trust all of us can conclude their relationship. As I was in queue, I have a feeling that I am on a foreign ground more than on Singapore Island. Beside these China girls, tourists, there are also few several groups of China male workers working round the upcoming Resort World developments. From tourist to workers, I can see more China citizens then our own Singapore citizens......hey, where are our fellow people?

As I explored more on the island, I felt Sentosa is an expensive island for family to have fun! Hopefully when the new resort hotel is ready, the island will have more fun for all of us!

A big HELLO to all (not sure if anyone is still following my blog).

I was panicking while I was trying to log on to my blog account. I have not been blogging for about a year and was having a hard time recalling my user account and password! Thanks god, sign of ageing is not showing on me yet!

It took me quite a while to decide to return to the life of blogging. I have been lazy all these while and recently a few major events happened on me that makes me ponder about my life and I decided to try to make an effort to pen down my thoughts and feeling in this blog and serves as diary for myself.

2 weeks back, I went for my LASIK surgery. I believe this is the most incredible and brave act that I could never imagine myself having the courage to go for it. I started wearing glasses at the age of 12 years old (primary 6) and changed to wearing lens at the age of 17 years old. Now at the age of 32 years, finally, have the feeling to say goodbye to glasses and lens! I was very grateful to have my boyfriend with me during the pre-evaluation assessment to consultation to surgery. We spent almost like 6 hours at the surgery clinic. The pre-evaluation went well and I had the surgery on the same day after our lunch. While waiting in the surgery room, I had a sudden emotional thought feeling how fortunate I have been all these while and I decided I should be more thankful for all the beautiful things in life and should not take things for granted. I am grateful to have the extra money for this 'cosmetic' surgery and told myself after my new reborn vision, I should be a more appreciative person. The surgery went well though I almost freaked out in the operating theatre! Every day in the morning, the moment I open my eyes, I give thanks for each new day that I am having now.

In a person's life journey, its always good to have a partner to support you, for the better or the worse, and I want to thanks my boyfriend who was with me throughout this LASIK surgery. I believe without his strength, I may still not have the courage to walk into the clinic and transform to a glass-free person. I am glad I am not alone in my journey!

Wonderful aromatherapy facial products

Recently, I began a big fan of organic and aroma facial products with essential oils. A good found was discovered and so good to be shared. Hello all, it has really been a real super long time since I last blogged. I wonder if there are still friends visiting this blog of mine? Anyway, decided to reconnect myself with the effort to blog. I been a regular blog-readers of others and kind of envy bloggers who spend time updating their lifes at blog and most beautiful effort is to upload with alot alot of pictures! Pictures tell alot and its real more interesting reading blogs with and without photos. The difference is just like watching a black n white tv or a color tv. As for me, I am still a plain Jane. I'm learning to put in more effort to add in photos/pictures...please stay tune in my blog while I am catching up!!!

Friends around me should know I have changed a new job. I am quite happy with my new job and environment. Job change has been quite a lucky one for me! I stayed for a period of 9 years in my previous job and sometime I will sit back for a moment and wonder how long will I be in my current job? If its for another 9 years then I think this current job will serve me till retirement! Is the word retirement scary? I think so. I have always been praying that I will strike toto with a reasonable amount for me to start a dream of mine! I been wanting to operate a cafe in Spore but always always no money. No money = no capital = failure business. Anyone out there can help with capital?

Just watched the dvd of a korean movie '200 pounds' over the weekend....

I find it quite a nice show...and the message from the show is simple. Got look but no brain, its ok cos got helpful souls (man) eagerly wanting to help the beauties. Got brain but no look, good luck to u!

BEAUTY IS IMPORTANT.....looks like I have to watch my grooming, ensure my look is pleasant all the time...as for my weight, I will look into it.....wishing someone will sponsor me for some weight management packages....

I was suprised that an auntie at her age of 69yrs old can blog so interestingly. I guess it her age factor that make her blogs casual and funny to read. In fact, I am quite envy of her. She even can use an apple laptop, upload her videos on youtube, etc. The sad thing is that some reader left her with negative comments which I think we should encourage folks like her to move on with time and blogs as much as she likes so that she can get herself connected with the younger generation. Can't stand him

Recently, my office has a new staff and its a GUY. This guy is a real horrible guy, can't stand him! He is only a 6 weeks old baby here, he already LEARNT how to be late for work. When we pass him some work to do, we need to constantly guide and teach him. But when come to learning to be late for work, he didn't need to be taught at all. So are we real good mentors of his. Lately, when he comes and ask me for some assistance, I just feel like puking! WHY? Its because I can't stand his purplish lip which is the post effect of puffing and puffing (=smoking). And I real hate most is his attitude at work. In the middle of the day, he can swing off for a puff and when he is not there, I will always tell my colleagues, oh, our dear boy went to eat curry puff again! Not all about his lateness + curry puff, he is also very fond of asking stupid question, questions which shouldn't come from a matured man of 24yrs old. My heart goes out to answer curious questions of my dear little nephew but definitely not to answer the doubts of this silly 24yrs old childish boy. I think this boy here doesn't deserved to be labelled as man, he is not fully developed yet.... and this boy here is damn stubborn. Our office lunch time is either 12pm to 1pm or 1pm to 2pm and he is smart alex.... he goes for lunch anytime of his choice oni after 2pm. Wow, he really thinks this is his grandfather's office here. As I am typing this blog, he is walking up and down beside me! Next yucky thing about him, he has also learnt to wear casual to work with a windbreaker (t-shirt inside) and jeans. For an entire week, I see him with the same old jeans. I doubt he change his jeans! Its sucking smelly (though there is no smell). The next issue that I dislike about him is he is quite a hairy man (when his thinking is oni a boy). He has hair all over his hands and I really can't take it when talking to him. Should I suggest IPL to him? Each time when we instruct him something, his standard ISO reply will always be like this 'o....k'. My goodness!!! How can every single thing that we are telling/teaching him always come with a standard answer 'o...k', is he listening in the first place? There was once he took down a message of a phone call and after that he came to my table and asked me the message that he wrote on the paper. My goodness, its a message in his own handwriting and how will I be able to understand? In my opinion, he is a real hopeless man. A man who has oni 'o..k' for answer, a man who has oni one pair of jeans, a man full of silly questions and hair on his hands, a man who knows how to be late for work but punctual to go home, a man who msn as much as I do (when I am almost at my 10yrs of service in my office), a man who is NOT fit to be a man!!! Help, please take him away from us!!!

99cents per plate??

99cents per plate of what? SUSHI. Hey, Hey, I am recommeding this Japanese restaurant with 2 outlets located at the Revenue House and Tampines swimming complex. The outlet that I went to was the one located at Revenue House (or should I tell its at the IRAS building?) The restaurant is named Nihom Mura, Level 2, #02-02., Revenue House. This restaurant is nicely decorated and its ambience is nice. To me, the so-called difference of this Japanese restaurant is this restaurant is like a Japanese Marche. Why do I say so? Okie, okie, let me highlight. In this restaurant, there is no seat along the conveyor belt. All customers are to self-service the sushi that are on-going the conveyor belt. No worries about the colours plates, are all 99-cents! Also, this restaurant has no MENU. The rest of the food like sashimi, charcoal grilled items, udo, doburi (hot pot rice) are all available at individual chef's workstation. Each food item is clearly labelled with a food photo and its price. Well, well, I think all food are reasonably priced. If you look at the pictures that I have attached (sorry for few pics oni, cos kanna stop for photography), what you need to do when you have decided what are the ala-car food that you wanted, all you need to do is to collect a stick of the labelled food, bring it back to your table and placed them all on a cup assigned on every table and wait for your food to be served. The staff will then come to your table and collect all the 'menu-sticks' that you have chosen. Good point is no waiting time for staff to come and take your order. The overall idea of this functioning of the restaurant is quite fresh and interesting to me. The bbq prawns ($5 for 4 sticks) are so-perfect and nice for a prawn lover like me. I took a few plates of sushi, order a beef donburi (hot pot rice) and tori karage......the hot pot rice is nice and the warm of the pot is able to keep the rice warm so that you can enjoy its warm even when you are eating soup. I guess I will surely be back to this restaurant for more Jap food cos there are many more choices that I can't wait to order and put them into my mouth. I guess my soon to be tummy will show it all. Overall, dining experience is perfect. Service: 5/5, food: 4/5, price: 4/5, ambience: 5/5....and I be BACK FOR MORE. Oh ya, according to the waitress, they allow table reservation on all days and carparking on sunday at this IRAS is oni $1.00... cheap parking...to enjoy your food slowly....slowly.... any one wants to treat me there???

Jane's Cake Station

Chocolate fudge cake, my FAVOURITE. Today I am recommending a super nice chocolate fudge cake that melts both your heart and mouth. The first time when I passed by this cake shop located at Jalan Kayu, I was wondering when did this shop open at Jln Kayu. Perhaps I also knew about roti prata discovery at Jln Kayu but never about this cake shop. Ok, decided to give it a try! I asked the shop owner if they have any slice cake for sale. The answer was NO. I asked then what are the cake variety. Answer: only durian or chocolate fudge cakes. So, I decided to buy a whole chocolate fudge cake. Guess what was the reply. Sorry, all cakes are available by order, no more ready cakes now. Huh, I was thinking to myself, wow, they so super! Never mind, never say die, I will be back one day to try. I phoned to order the cake on 7 Feb (Wed) and went for collection on 10 Feb (Sat). I seldom buy whole cake for no ocassion except for this time. The whole cake costs $30 and for durian cake it will be $38. Finally, after a long wait, i went to collect the cake and was all ready to put the first bite into my mouth. WOW, the cake is super soft and the sweetness is perfect. I ate 2 slices at one go and its like never enough. This cake is really worth the money and the trip to Jln Kayu, all the way to collect it. Beaulie House

Hey, Hey, have u heard of this restaurant at Sembawang Park named Beaulieu House? I guess some of u may find it familiar as it was featured in one of the HDB taitai episodes.

Beaulieu House, originally the seaside house of a mining business family and is older even than the Naval Base. It was acquired by the colonial government when the Naval Base was planned, and was probably built around 1910. Postwar, whilst still part of the Naval Base, it was normally the residence of a Senior Fleet Officer like the Chief of Staff, who would descend the steps and stand on the jetty to take the salute from the crew as ships passed in or out of the Naval Base.

Such a house, built to face the sea has now become a restaurant, serving western, chinese seafood, BBQ and steamboat. Its a ideal place to spent your time under the stars with a magnificent view of the sea.

See the food that I had ordered. Fish and chips, prawn with cheese and warm chocolate tarte with vanilia ice cream. The fish and chips is for $15 and quite value for money...as for the prawns, its $20 and I feel its nice but not filling. Comment for the dessert is PERFECT, value for money.

He Ji Wanton Mee

I am a true fan of Adrian Pang and when he host the programme 'Yummy King', I never failed to watch. Of course after watching the show, the next thing is to track down the food he recommended and try it out. My first trial of his recommendation is a stall named 'He Ji'. This stall sells wanton mee. Their wanton mee is $3/4 per bowl. I ordered $3 wanton mee, fried wanton ($2 for 8pcs), shrimp dumplings ($3 for 5pcs) and pork cutlet ($3 per pc). The noodles is real superb! According to the stall helper, the noodles is 'imported' from Malaysia. The noodles are manufactured in Malaysia (JB) and then specially bought in to sell at the stall. If you visit the stall, you will be able to read the history of the stall. The portion of the noodles is rather litlle....so big eater, please order $4. As I was too hungry, I forgot to take picture of the wanton noodles when arrived....but only remembered to do so after eating a few big mouth. I was busy fitting my mouth with the fried wanton and pork cutlet, therefore, no pics of them. My conclusion, the wanton mee is worth the try, nice taste and noodles are cooked just right! Pork cutlet and fried wanton are so so lah....lastly, the stall is located at 273 Jalan Kayu (near the famous Jalan Kayu Roti Prata).

Clover leaf + disney

Do you believe clover leaf will bring you special luck? For me, its 50-50 belief....I have seen people using clover leaf as earrning, keychain accessory and handphone accessory. Today I bought one too! The main reason that I bought this clover leaf handphone accessory is because it comes with my favourite disney characters, chip and dale....look at the picture, is it cute and nice? To my knowledge, the four leaves represents wealth ($$$$), love, health and fame. (Is this how our local brand bakery, four leaves became famous?) This special clover now comes with original disney characters such as mickey mouse, winnie the pooh, minnie mouse and its sold at a counter at plaza singapura. (the counter is located outside KFC), and each handphone accessory comes with a certificate and a serial number...hope you catch the serial no on my card and good luck to you if you want to bang big on this no for 4D. Just dun forget me if you strike...otherwise, let me strike and I treat u guys! One last thing you may want to know is its price, right? Ok....the retail price range is from $24 to $32...and currently they are having a promotion, buy 2 get 1 free,,,,and for those micky mouse lovers out there....go and grab the mickey mouse design, its real nice and I had a hard time deciding between mickey mouse and chip and dale. However, I decided to go for the chip and dale design. Perfect as Xmas or birthday gifts!

Hokkien, Cantonese...Dialects.....u can't speak?

Does kids these days know how to speak dialects? I witnessed many of our students these days are unable to communicate with old folks because of language barrier. Is dialect a languange barrier in today's society? I came across a senior doctor who went to Germany for overseas triaining. He was attached to a local hospital in Germany and over there the German doctor and patient communicate in German. However, in the presence of a Singapore doctor, the German doctor and patient turned to speak English. And when another doctor did overseas training in Korea, oh dear, beside the body language he was observing, there is no common language to use! Well, language barrier is common among people of different nationalities....but how can language be a barrier among our locals?

Each time when I see a student unable to get details from the patient regarding his diagnosis, condition and history and resulted having to wait for an interpreter (if there happen to be), does it strike the mind of the student to start learning to speak dialect? Is dialect so difficult to learn or too 'malu' to learn? For the sake of your good, dear students out there, it won't kill to learn some dialects for the benefit of better communication skills!

I guess when many of you saw the heading on this blog titled 'World Trade Center', you guys must be curious why am I writing about WTC-911 after such a long time gap.

Well, its the movie 'World Trade Center' that I have watched recently and going to write about it now. On a scale of 1 to 10, I will rate is a perfect 100% show. I seldom go for movie except for real good movie....so if you see me watching movie, its really like striking 4D.

Then what's so great about this show when we all knew its the terriorist attack of the WTC. Letme share with you. In this show, it relates the true life story of 2 Port Authority Officers who were trapped beneath the the wreckage of the fallen WTC, their real life story how much 'hope' and 'light' they seen when they were trapped hopelessly. I guess if I am them, I will surely lose hope and will give up the willpower to live and to be rescued. Of course, there were many touching screen in the show but somehow I managed to control my tears!

This show really put me into deep thoughts and I learned not to take each day in life for granted (said is easier than done). Today, you will have your loved ones by your side and you never know when you will lose them. In short, treasure what you have and hold today as you do not know what will happen tomorrow.

Yesterday I was at the Suntec City. As usual I went to buy my favourite sugarcane juice from the stall which is located near the cashier at carrefour level 1. My perfect choice will always be sugarcane juice with sour plum. However, when I was buying the sugarcane juice, I noticed the 2 servers (1 squeezing the juice and 1 being the cashier) wore a mask while serving customers. You may think this is the perfect hygiene level. Guess what? My god, both of them are wearing the mask for 'show'. Why did i say that? Its because their mask was wore not to cover their mouth but was wore to cover their chin. I think they are just defeating the purpose of wearing a mask or should I educate them how to wear a mask or should I console myself because the IMF is over? I wanted to tell them off but was being stopped by my friend who told me to let them be. YES, I am going to let them be and telling them in my heart, one customer lost PERMAMENTLY.

Need a break? Have a Kit Kat. Plenty of new flavours kit kat selling at Isetan Supermarket now. I used to like the 'limited edition' green tea flavour kit kat from Japan. However, its limited and gone...and the moment I saw this...I was telling myself 'die die' must buy all the flaovurs except the mint one! So i deserve real lots of breaks after buying so many kit kats...see the collection? Got caramac (my all time favourite), orange, dark chocolate (my sis's favourite) and milk chocolate. Now, give me a break, give me my kit kat! Price: $6.95 per pack (comes in 9 or 10 bars)

A good MAKE UP book to share

Eversince I learned the art of make up, I developed the interest of looking for nice, creative and beautiful make up books. Found this perfect make up book from the Make Up Store (located at marina square) and reasonably priced at S$12.00. Decided to grab one home to admire the beautiful artwork. I managed to capture a few shots which featured my favourites. I noticed I sort of quite like fashion, retro and vibrant make up. Currently, I am still quite weak in my blending skills when doing eye make up...guess have to make it an effort to practice, practice and practice.

Found this creative Dynamo Lamp displayed at Red Dot Design Museum. Is it special? Well, I think its an unique, creative and brilliant concept to think of recycling an empty dynamo bottle and 'convert' it into a lamp. Perhaps will give it a try when I have some spare time to DIY. ("Mum, please pass me the empty dynamo bottle when finish, thanks!")

Fleamart Discovery-MAAd Sunday

Exploring fleamart has been my interest....you never know what good buys or finds you can discover. Now there is a new fleamart is Singapore that fleamart lovers should not miss it! This fleamart is named MAAD Sunday and located at former traffic plice HQ at Maxwell Road. It operates on every Sunday starting 2nd july, 11am to 7pm. I visited the fleamart on 9th July. It was a hot day and the mart is airconditioned, phew, no sweat! I quite like the concert of this fleamart is because 1) it has aircon, 2) there are seats around whereby u can rest your legs while considering to buy the item you have spotted 3) u can buy drinks to go along while resting yourself in the comfort of aircon (got bottled beers and cocktails hor @ $7.00 each!), nice place right? I bought a blouse at the mart and got to know a cute little girl (while resting my legs) and chatted a while with this little girl. Accordinging to her, she likes to be photographed and asked to have her bunny pet to be photographed with her too! Forgetful me has forgotten to ask for her name? Her mummy brought her a pink brooch!

Overall experience: nice hangout place to chill out on a slow and beautiful Sunday.

Fried Carrot Cake - Anyone likes?

Fried carrot cake with black sauce has always been my top choice. No way for WHITE fried carrot cake. Recently, I been to this stall at AMK central market and this fried carrot stall only serves white version and NO black. I was quite pissed off when they only served white one. Since the queue for this stall is quite long I conclude it may worth my try! Ok, just once! While I was queuing I noticed that this stall is also being featured in Spore Best Food and makansutra, I confirmed my decision to queue can’t be wrong. After 5 minutes wait, it’s my turn and I ordered a $2 plate with more chili. The interesting part of their carrot cake is that their chili is not added to be fried with the cake but it’s placed on one side of the plate when served. I placed quite a big piece of the carrot into my mouth and the cake was nicely fried with just an appropriate amount of egg and the chili is real nice and fiery, perfect! Do drop by this stall at AMK central, Blk 724, #01-45 to give it a try! Yummy is the only word to describle it in shortl! Rating = 5*****

Pocky Pocky, an all time favourite since young! Chocolate or strawberry? Mine is chocolate. Recently bought it at a Japan Food Fair Corner. Its a big pack of 10 smaller packets. You may think its like the usual Pocky that we can get in major supermarkets, then you are a little wrong. The chocolate coating tastes a little like dark chocolate and not so sweet chocolate. One stick melt in your mouth and its never enough!!! Price = $6.90 for 1 packet (10 packs)

Special air-flown ramen from Japan, Hakodate! Sold only at Isetan supermarket yearly. $8.00 per packet and comes in 3 flavours. Per packet can serve either 2 ladies or 1 guy (guy's appetite is bigger lah). Mine is miso soup flavour, very yummy! First, u boil the noodles in a pot and drain the water away. Use another pot to boil the miso flavoring with water. Once the miso soup is boil, add in the ramen and served!
